Native Delawarean and amateur historian Mark R. Lawlor discovered stone and concrete foundations at Brandywine Springs Amusement Park while a student at the University of Delaware. After spending five years researching the history of the park, he merged several maps to recreate a layout of the park attractions, reviewed 30 years of newspaper microfilm, interviewed many individuals that remembered the amusements, and collected over 200 photographs of the amusement rides, buildings, and structures.

Mark was born and raised in Fairfax, Delaware and is the fifth of seven children. He enjoys camping and mountain climbing with his wife Mary Lou, and sharing the wonderful history of this unique Victorian era Delaware parkland in New Castle County.
